This is not a complete list of house plants that are toxic to dogs, but it lists the plants that are common indoors especially during the holidays. The most important thing is to teach your dog that it isn’t acceptable to chew on any plant material in your house. Just as you would insist they not chew on the leg of the coffee table. 
I don’t think it is necessary to ban these plants from your house just be observant and train your dog to look but don’t nibble on the plants. As a general rule animals know instinctively which plants to stay away from, if you combine there good sense with educating yourself about different plants that may be hazardous you should all be able to coexist quite happily.
